Biography
Jah Lil (born Jerome Adrian Smith) is an emerging reggae artist from Kingston, Jamaica, known for his soulful voice, conscious lyrics, and emotionally resonant music. He discovered his talent at the age of six, captivating audiences during morning devotions and school concerts at Rousseau Primary. While attending Jamaica College, he joined the school’s first 'All Together Sing' choir, further developing his vocal and performance skills. A self-taught singer, songwriter, and keyboardist, Jah Lil credits his musical gift to divine inspiration and a deep spiritual connection.
In 2011, Jah Lil collaborated with producer John Williams of Almond Productions, winning the JCDC Gospel Song Competition with the track “Weeping Men”. The song earned multiple awards, including Best Lyrics, Best-Arranged Song, and Best Performance. His distinctive voice soon caught the attention of renowned producer Danny Brownie of Main Street Records, resulting in the 2014 release of “One Wrong One Right,” which received international airplay and introduced Jah Lil to a global audience.
His recent single, “Warn Yuh,” produced by Xterminator, delivers a powerful spiritual message underscored by the lyric: “The secret of life is deep within. Find love and you find everything.” In 2024, Jah Lil released his acclaimed album “Can a Man Cry,” a deeply personal project exploring themes of love, pain, masculinity, and healing. The album has garnered nearly 3 million streams worldwide and solidified his place as a compelling new voice in conscious reggae.
Jah Lil’s growing international appeal was evident during his successful 2024 European summer tour, where he delivered electrifying performances at clubs and major festivals. With upcoming tours planned across Asia, Australia, and Europe in 2025, Jah Lil continues to expand his reach while staying rooted in his mission—to inspire hope, love, and resilience through the power of reggae music.
