Dennison Joseph & The Co-Operators – More Fire (2024) Single

Album: Sounds From The Fridge
Release date: 05/10/2024

Dennison Joseph is part of a pedigree of Bristol musicians that is rarely surpassed. A musical bloodline that found fertile ground in Bristol’s inner city communities in the 70s.

He was there at the legendary concert after which Bob Marley remarked on how St Paul’s reminded him of his home, Trench Town. He saw Burning Spear at the legendary Bamboo Club. Cutting his teeth as a youth at Aljax’s Blues he fell in love with the revolutionary message of reggae music and it inspired him to form his own band- Bristol roots champions Talisman.

Dennison‘s songwriting process co-exists exclusively with the rasta drumming style of Nyabinghi. For him it all begins with the heartbeat of this tradition. How fitting then that his second outing with The Co-Operators ‘More Fire‘ is underpinned by the trinity of Kette, Funde and Thunder. The earth shaking bass is truly sound system worthy and Dennison’s cries to bring down fire on Babylon kingdom show his faith and passion for the revolutionary message of reggae music is unwavering.
