Dub Shepherds – Night and Day (2023) Album

Label: BAT Records
Release date: 10/27/2023

Calling all roots lovers and groove heads! Echoes galore and a reverb deluge: this October The Dub Shepherds announce the imminent release of their third album “Night and Day“.

Assisted by a talented dream team of musicians and supported by some microphone experts, the duo juggle rhythm and words to deliver a solid modern reggae album made in France. The Dub Shepherds‘ foundation, the one that builds their reputation, is this raw sound heavily inspired by Black Ark / Lee Scratch Perry. The falsetto voice of Jolly Joseph, a generous dose of madness and finely honed mixing skills acquired through years of experience are all part of their formula.

On “Night And Day,” Dub Shepherds push at the stylistic confines of the genre and surprise us by drawing influences from beyond the boundaries of the reggae tradition. Funky atmosphere, jazzy leanings, hints of eroticism and a crooner ambiance coexist with their bouncy Rockers sound, deep rubadub style, dub, and militant one drop. The blend is unique and refined.

On this new album, Jolly Joseph and Doctor Charty present twelve sincere and committed tunes. The duo stands firm in their unique approach to reggae, a sound rich in influences; a sound produced and played with style!
