Available on all the best digital platforms starting from November 1st, the Jamaican Ting Riddim* is the result of the first collaboration between Cabiria Record and Redgoldgreen Label and features international artists such as Turbulence, Meggabling, Detektah, VirtuS and Petross.

The project begins with the birth of the homonymous single, Jamaican Ting, by the very young Italian artist of Jamaican origins Petross who wanted to celebrate his roots by mixing the music listened to by young Italians with the sound and patwa of the Caribbean island.

Among the various singles of the compilation, Turbulence stands out with a committed and harsh lyrics where the Jamaican artist condemns pedophiles and rapists in no uncertain terms, a particularly sensitive issue in the Rasta community.

There are also the powerful singles of two other Jamaican artists such as Meggabling and Detektah as well as the Italian singer VirtuS, here also in the role of producer of the instrumental.

The Jamaican Ting riddim is characterized by its cross-over style with rhythmic elements typical of Jamaican dancehall production but also with the presence of chord sequences that recall R&B music or trap music thanks to the typical 808 bass.

*Riddim: a fundamental and cultural element of contemporary Jamaican music, it is characterized as an instrumental (called precisely “riddim” or beat) on which various singers try their hand, each composing their own song different in terms of lyrics and melody.
