The most recent album by Chilean singer Quique Neira is born with 10 new songs that were born at different times and even during the pandemic. “This is the album that reflects my 50 years,” says the Latin American reggae reference.

Chilean singer Quique Neira presents El Reguero, no less than the thirteenth production in his prolific musical career. A total of 10 songs with nuances of classics and that still bring back memories of the pandemic, since several of the songs that this new album contains were conceived precisely in the middle of the health crisis with all the emotional burden that comes with such a transcendent moment for the humanity and where music certainly had a lot to contribute.

The artist, a true emblem of reggae music in Spanish, highlights on this occasion that the album – available since November 24 – largely reflects the important artistic and personal moment he is experiencing and where music has been a true oxygen of life. “This new album is the consequence of everything I had to experience until the pandemic and it is the work that reflects my 50 years. It shocks me just thinking about it. The time I have dedicated to music, which is more than half of my life, has been reflected in these 10 compositions. My musical, melodic and lyrical concerns. Everything has been worth it because these songs are everything I would have wanted to say at this age,” says Quique.

The creator of so many classics of the Chilean songbook highlights that El Reguero brings innovative sounds and moments connected to the reality he lives: “The breadth of the themes and the innovative sound of some songs are highlights of this album. I have also been able to address current subjects, which I believe is a sign that I am connected to reality, which in my view is fundamental for an artist.” At the same time he adds: “My expectation is that the album reaches far, to many ears and hearts. In recent years I became aware of how much I am valued in other latitudes and I have made this album thinking and believing a lot that these songs will accompany many people, in very broad situations and in very distant places, many of them further than what I imagine,” says the Chilean singer.

El Reguero is the new work by Quique Neira who, from Chile, once again raises the flag of Reggae just as he has been doing in his more than three decades of career and you can listen to it on all available platforms.
