Another international link-up from Tribe 84 Records, bringing together voices and sounds from Senegal, Portugal and France. Saah Karim, the Lyrical Warrior from Senegambia, steps forward once again with “Children” — a conscious roots-inspired tune carrying a message that is impossible to ignore.

With his unmistakable lyrical style, Saah Karim speaks on the violence, suffering and atrocities that children continue to face around the world. The ones who should be protected the most are often the ones left most vulnerable. Children are our future, and their safety, dignity and well-being should never be taken for granted.

Produced by Medi Sound Station (Portugal) back in 2023, “Children” features Hudson Jah Son on kette drum and Avocado Boy on flute, with the mix handled by Rootical 45.

For the past few years, the track has been travelling the traditional soundsystem route as an unreleased exclusive dubplate, getting plays at sessions across the world and building its own life on the sound. Now the dubplate is finally ready to be released.

And, unfortunately, the message has only become more relevant since the project began. What was written as a warning has continued to make more and more sense.

“Children” is our small contribution to a much bigger conversation — a call to look closer, listen harder, and think about how we treat and protect the little ones growing up in our world. Turn up the sound. Listen to the lyrics. Share the message.
