Reggae talents from Mozambique, Brazil & Costa Rica come together for a single purpose.

When Jah Bruno from Freedom Sounds Canoa Quebrada met Mozambican artist Ras Soto in Sao Pablo, Brazil, he didn’t hesitate to show him some of the riddims he had been working on with producer Costa Rebel from Costa Rica. This is how the development of “Watching Them” begins, a track that denounces the lack of tolerance and respect towards the Rastafari culture.

Currently the 3 talents have stood out and contributed high quality work to the international reggae scene, Freedom Sounds has just released an EP with the legend Cedric Myton, they reached more than 3 million views with the video for “Canoa Quebrada“, in addition to the songs “Sujeito Que Trahalha” with Elio Bentes and the song “Freedom” with Dada Yute reached more than 140K views on Spotify.

Ras Soto has gained international recognition that has led him to work with music producers from five continents, the result of these works have been an album, two mixtapes, an EP and several singles. In 2021, his music was licensed by the Zumba Fitness company, going on to be performed in more than 180 countries. In 2022, the African Roots of Dancehall swing show was contemplated by ProAC and is circulating in cultural spaces in the capital of São Paulo and Greater São Paulo.

Costa Rebel recently released the song “Con Toda” with the Spanish Pipo Ti and Positive Vibz, which was added to the Spotify editorial playlist “Novedades Viernes Latinoamérica” ​​and “Reggae en Español”, as well as the video for the song “Alta Suciedad” reached more than 2.5 million views on YouTube. Last month Costa Rebel was interviewed by David Katz, one of the world’s leading reggae authorities, for the documentary “Tropical Hybrids in Central America”.

“Watching Them” is already being promoted on social networks, especially on the Freedom Sounds instagram account, which has more than 81K followers, and Costa Rebel‘s TikTok account, which has more than 47K followers. An extensive email marketing campaign it’s being developed, including DJs and Selectors from Latin America, the United States, Europe and Africa. Several interviews are planned in different media, the track will sound in streamings and of course, in Freedom Bar, Canoa Quebrada.
