Joe Yorke – Man (2023) Single

Label: Rhythm Steady
Release date: 09/29/2023

Just a few months following the resounding success of “A Distant Beat“, his album with The Cooperators, and the soaring demand for the reissued debut LP “Noise And Emptiness“, Joe Yorke is thrilled to announce the imminent arrival of his third LP, “Hopeless“, set for release in October 2023. Following the soulful charm of “Dreaming“, the first soul-dominant track to grace the Rhythm Steady label, the Northern-born singer-songwriter introduces his second single, “Man“, this time carried by a rocksteady groove.

The track unfolds with a haunting, nostalgia-infused organ line, evoking deep- seated emotions from the very outset. Joe’s vocal delivery pays homage to his musical influences, drawing from both the timeless Doo-wop sounds of the 1950s and the contemporary soul of today. Rooted in a profound sense of empathy, the singer acknowledges the far-reaching impact of power imbalances on society. “Man” boldly takes a stand against the injustices of everyday life, embracing a classic and enduring theme cherished within the realm of Jamaican-influenced music. As the track approaches its conclusion, it seamlessly transforms into dub, fading away like a discomix, vanishing into the echoes of time.
